Facility overview

ADC Mitchell is designed to Tier 3+ standards as per the Uptime Institute. The facility will be one of a handful of data centres formally accredited by the Uptime Institute. The data centre has an availability rating of 99.98%. The facility is modular in design and construction, complete with both primary and redundant critical components and distribution paths for power and cooling services to IT equipment.

The building will house 3000m2 of technical equipment. All major systems and pathways are concurrently maintainable, therefore critical UPS, diesel generator and air conditioning support will still be available to IT equipment while maintenance is carried out on other pathways and critical components.

ADC’s technical design is raised floor with central services. The design also allows for high density racks and pods. The design can accommodate up to 12 kw per rack on

its raised floor model, or up to 20kw per rack if required incorporating some further cooling technology.

ADC plans to use free air cooling for 8-9 months of the year.

ADC offers the following options

Private Data Suites
Secure Caged Areas
Full managed rack space for smaller requirements

Location

ADC Mitchell is located 10kms from the CBD and approximately 14kms from Canberra International Airport. Strategic placement has ensured it is not in an area susceptible to natural disasters, such as earthquakes and floods. It is distanced from heavy industrial and potential threat sites. The data centre is close to public transport; it is accessible by regular bus routes and major freeways.

Fibre

ADC is carrier neutral and all major carriers will be connected to the building.
